Our role
A tool to understand the law. Not a law firm.
LawChat is legal research software. It does not replace a lawyer, a notary or a sworn translator, and it is clear about where its role ends.
What LawChat does
Helps you understand and prepare
- Explains Romanian laws, codes and court decisions in English
- Quotes the original Romanian text and links to the official source
- Translates Romanian documents so you know what you sign or receive
- Helps you prepare precise questions for your lawyer, which saves billable hours
What LawChat is not
Not a lawyer, not a law firm
- Not a law firm and not a member of the Romanian Bar
- Does not give legal advice or create a lawyer–client relationship
- Cannot represent you before courts, the police, the tax authority (ANAF) or any other authority
- Its translations are not sworn translations and are not accepted by authorities
When to see a professional
A lawyer, notary or sworn translator
- Lawyer: court proceedings, criminal matters, summons from police or prosecutors, disputes with authorities
- Notary: property transactions, inheritance, powers of attorney
- Sworn translator: any document filed with a court or authority
- Whenever a deadline is running or your money, liberty or residence is at stake
When a situation calls for a lawyer, LawChat says so. Answers on court cases, criminal matters and running deadlines close with a clear recommendation to seek representation.
